The Smith Fine Arts Series is bringing 8 exciting concerts to Rice Auditorium in 2011 and 2012 starting with the musically acclaimed group Oregon on October 8th. The Boston Globe says “At the core of an OREGON concert is a joyful embracing of adventure”. Smith Fine Arts Series describes Oregon:
“In their 42st Year of touring and performing together, Oregon will open this season’s Smith Fine Arts Series. For over four decades Oregon has inspired audiences in renowned concert halls from Carnegie Hall to the Berlin Philharmonic Hall; at international jazz clubs and major festivals such as Montreal, and Newport; and on tours through every continent save Antarctica. Their blend of world music and jazz continues to inspire listeners and while they share their name with our great state, they rarely appear in concert here. Individually these four musicians (Ralph Towner, Glen Moore, Paul McCandless, and Mark Walker) are among the finest in the world, together they are legendary.”
